Ballots are now available
Absentee Ballots for the upcoming City Election are available in the Cherokee County Auditor's office located in the Cherokee County Courthouse at 520 West Main, Cherokee, Iowa.
To Receive an Absentee Ballot by Mail:
If you will be unable to vote on the scheduled Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2011, you may stop in or call the Auditor's office at 225-6704 to receive the absentee request form.

or through the Secretary of State's website at "www.sos.state.ia.us/PDFS/AbsenteeBallotApp.pdf .
Send your Ballot Request to: The County Auditor in the county where you live. (Cherokee County Auditor, 520 West Main St, Drawer H, Cherokee, IA 51012)
Deadline: The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot by mail is 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the election, which would be November 4, 2011. You may vote absentee at the County Auditor's office through Monday, November 7, 2011, for voters in the cities of Aurelia and Cherokee. For those voters in the cities of Larrabee, Cleghorn, Marcus, Meriden, Quimby & Washta, you may vote absentee at the County Auditor's office through Tuesday, November 8, 2011, until 11:00 a.m. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Monday, November 7, 2011, or you may hand deliver your voted ballot to the Auditor's office by 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2011.
