WHS students raise Breast Cancer awareness

Friday, October 14, 2011

Adam Pitts
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Cherokee Washington High School varsity football cheerleaders, along with some members of the senior class, are having a fundraiser to help find a cure.

Five senior Braves Jake Spindler, Rick Weaver, Colton Trent, Jared Roethler and Adam Pitts, are battling each other to find out who is "Tough Enough to Wear Pink."

Voting will take place at the home football game against South Central Calhoun tonight. Each contestant will have a tub with his picture in a pink dress attached. People may vote by placing money in the container. The one with the most money in his jar at the end of the night will be declared the winner and the title of "Tough Enough to Wear Pink."

All money raised will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation- Siouxland Affiliate.

The cheerleaders want to thank all of the participants who were willing to wear pink for this fundraiser and all of the fans who participate in the voting.
