LAKE VIEW - Sioux Central won the 11-team Twin Lakes Conference Volleyball Tournament, played over two nights at four venues last week.
The Rebels came out of Pool B in Sioux Rapids, topping Prairie Valley, Manson/NW Webster, and Storm Lake St. Mary's in pool play. They met Pool A runner-up winner South Central Calhoun, which had played its pool games in Lake View, in the tournament semi-final game in Lake View on Thursday, and the Rebels won, 25-16 and 25-17.
East Sac had won Pool A, and they took on Pool B runner-up Manson/Northwest Webster in the semis, winning two tough games, by scores of 25-22 and 37-35.
Manson/NW Webster topped South Central Calhoun in the consolation final, 25-12, 21-25, 15-12, to take third place in the tournament, and in the championship match, Sioux Central triumphed in two tight matches against East Sac, 25-23, 25-23.
Prairie Valley finished 5th, defeating Laurens-Marathon, and Storm Lake St. Mary's beat Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer in three sets to win 7th place. Newell-Fonda finished 9th, Alta-Aurelia 10th and SE Webster Grand 11th, as the result of a tournament among those three teams on Tuesday in Newell .
