The Raptors got off on the right foot, as they beat Western Valley Conference foe Lawton-Bronson in three sets, 21-19, 16-21, 15-6, but that was the highlight of the day for Ridge View. The Raptors lost to Sioux City East, 21-16, 21-15; then dropped a match to Sioux Center in 3 sets, 14-21, 22-20. 10-15. Next up was a match with Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, which swept Ridge View 17-21, 11-21; the LeMars Bulldogs beat the Raptors by scores of 16-21, 10-21; and another Western Valley Conference foe, IKM-Manning, came out on top 14-21, 19-21.
On the day, Gretchen Kistenmacher led the Raptors with 26 kills, while Kaitlin Wulf had 24, Jayde Vondrak 19 and Kaitlynn Madsen 18; Dana Hustedt had 35 digs for Ridge View, while Wulf had 34; Vondrak had six blocks and Anna Davis three; and Kaitlin Wulf led in ace serves, with six, while Kistenmacher added five for the Raptors, which as a team served at 91.15 % efficiency with 17 kills.
Ridge View coach Scott Mitchell said, "We gave up some big 'runs' today and didn't finish matches. We played some very good volleyball at times, but we were not able to sustain it throughout the match."
In conclusion, the veteran coach added, "It is good to play this level of competition, but I hope we aren't satisfied with just playing these teams."
The Raptors concluded their regular season with a 23-16 overall mark, and they were 4-3 in conference play.
