AURELIA - Saturday has been set as this year's date for the annual 'Harvest Hoopla' celebration in Aurelia, with a lot of activities going on in town all day long.
Going on concurrently at the Aurelia Community Center, from 8 am. - 10 a.m., will be a Bake Sale, sponsored by the Sunset Knoll Auxiliary.
Following a short break, more fun activity will be going on at the Community Center, as the Friends of Aurelia sponsor their "Little Spooks House of Fun,' with all new activity stations, from 3-4:30 p.m.
Admission is $1 for these activities, which are suggested for kids 5th grade and younger. Costumes are optional.
After they finish with the activities at the Community Center, the kids are invited to march in their Hallowe'en costumes in the Kiddy Parade. The parade will start at the park at 5 p.m., and will head west on West 4th Street to Spruce Street, stopping at Sunset Knoll to parade for the residents. The parade then proceeds east on West 5th Street to Main Street, where the kids will get treats from community members who have parked in the Community Center parking lot, in the community's second annual "Trunk or Treat."
At the conclusion of the parade, at 5:30 p.m., it's back to the Aurelia Community Center, where the Friends of Aurelia will be hosting a Soup Supper for the community. A free will offering will go to help support the Aurelia Daycare, Preschool and Playground equipment.
For the "Over 21 crowd," there will be a Hallowe'en Party and Costume Contest at 3-Pete's at 8 p.m., with prizes awarded and drink specials., and at Jake's, one can register at 9 p.m. for his Hallowe'en Party and costume contest, with a Flippy Cup Contest at 9:30 p.m.
