AURELIA - The makeover of Main Street Aurelia continued this week with the purchase of the town's weekly newspaper, The 'Aurelia Star,' by veteran newspaper man Terry Holub.
Cindy Hanner, the owner and editor of the Star for the last three years, has sold the paper to Holub, who earned his degree in Journalism from South Dakota State University in 1976, and has been involved in the newspaper business in Iowa or South Dakota ever since. Holub will publish his first edition of the paper this week.
The 'Aurelia Star' will maintain its current telephone number, mailing address and e-mail address, but Holub has purchased the former New Reflections building at 105 S. Main St. in Aurelia, and the newspaper will be operated out of that building.
The move of the newspaper office caps quite a flurry of recent activity on Main Street in the 138-year-old town of Aurelia. The 'New Reflections' salon recently moved into its new location on the other side of Main Street, and with the openings of Capture Photography, Mud on Main, Melanie's Joys, and the Lucky 7 Carwash, Aurelia has gone through its own version of "Extreme Makeover" this year.
