CPD sponsoring Toys For Tots

Friday, November 4, 2011

The Cherokee Police Department and their families are again sponsoring the Toys For Tots program. This is a non-profit organization.

Toys For Tots is a program that enables the Department to provide the needy children of Cherokee County with presents at Christmas time.

This year organizers are anticipating approximately 100 children at the Toys For Tots party, which will be held on Dec. 4. Santa will be present to hand the children their presents. The Toys For Tots Committee also tries to provide these children with some basic essentials that everyone takes for granted, such as underclothes, clothing, coats, mittens and hats.

The Committee is not able to provide the above-mentioned clothing for all the children, but they try to provide for those who have the need.

The Committee would appreciate any kind of donation from the community. Donations need to be mailed or dropped off at the Cherokee Police Department at 239 W. Maple St., Cherokee, IA, 51012
