Cherokee area cancer support group meeting

Thursday, November 10, 2011

According to the American Cancer Society, it is estimated that there will be over 1.5 million new cases of cancer diagnosed in 2011. Everyone has been affected by cancer in one way or another. You may be a current cancer patient, a cancer survivor or have a family member or friend who is suffering from cancer.

The next meeting of the Cherokee Area Cancer Support Group will take place on Saturday, November 19th. The meeting will be held at the Spice Rack in Cherokee and will begin at 9:00 a.m. Anyone that has been touched by cancer is welcome to attend. This will be the support group's last gathering of 2011, but the group will resume meeting in the spring of 2012.

The format of the meetings will be educational and will include speakers on various topics, group discussions and a time for sharing. This program is free to the public and is a great opportunity to visit with others affected by cancer. This support group has been organized by Darlene Wiersema and Connie Nelson. If you have any questions, you may contact Connie at 225-2986, Darlene at 225-4039 or JoAnne Tapper at 225-3368 Ext. 229.
