Pitts, Seliger, Weaver, Husman honored

Four Cherokee Braves have earned 2011 District 2 All-District Football First Team honors, and eight Braves have earned District All-Academic Awards.

Named to First Team Offense for Cherokee are senior receiver Adam Pitts, senior quarterback Nate Seliger, and junior utility player Marc Husman. Senior inebacker Rick Weaver was named First Team defense.

In addition, two more Braves were named to All-District Second Team, including junior offensive lineman Stetson Dagel, and junior defensive lineman Lane Peterson.

All-District honorable Mention Offense status went to Cherokee's senior tight end Dillon Drefke, senior offensive lineman Trevor Devitt, and senior offensive lineman Miah Back.

Earning All-District Academic Awards for Cherokee were Gabe Conley, Drefke, Jack Letsche, Tyler McLaughlin, Devitt, Ben Sampson, Andrew Freese, and Dagel.

Cherokee football cheerleaders earning All-District Academic honors were Michaela Booth, Amanda Kellen, Mariah Clyde, Hanna Henson, Clara Wulfsen, and Katie Bice.
