Teresa C. Sefcik of Pocahontas, age 77, died November 12, 2011 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Funeral Mass was held today at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas.

Visitation took place starting at 9 a.m. at the church until the time of service. Burial followed in the Calvary Cemetery in Pocahontas.

The Mahaney Funeral Home in Fonda is in charge of the arrangements.

Teresa Catherine Tippy was born May 27, 1934 in Cherokee, the daughter of Roy and Marie (Fuhrman) Tippy. She was baptized and confirmed at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. Growing up, she attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School where she graduated in 1952.

On February 15, 1958, Teresa was united in marriage to Albert J. Sefcik at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. Together, they were blessed with six children: Paul, Mark, Andrew, Teresa, Connie, and Albert Jr.

Teresa was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas and the Catholic Daughters.

Teresa's life was filled with caring for the special people in her life. She treasured spending time with family and friends and hugs were always given and welcomed by Teresa.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Marie Tippy; brother, George Tippy; and sister, Margaret Mogensen.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Albert Sefcik of Pocahontas; children: Paul (Kathy) Sefcik of Bradgate; Mark (Debra) Sefcik of Alta; Andrew (Ann) Sefcik of Monroe, Wis.; Teresa (Jay) Midkiff of Kernersville, North Carolina; Connie Overberg of Emmetsburg; Albert Sefcik Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers: Joseph (Pat) Tippy of Saukville, Wisconsin; Michael Tippy of Cherokee; sisters: Agnes Day of Cherokee; Ruth Tippy of Cherokee; Patricia Miller of Cleghorn; extended family and friends.
