Morningside College will host the University of St. Francis in a first round game in the 2011 NAIA Football National Championship Series on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m.

Morningside will take a 9-1 record and a No. 6 NAIA national ranking into the contest. The Mustangs were this year's champion of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) with an 8-1 league record, receiving the Championship trophy after their 59-7 win over Briar Cliff last Saturday.

The Mustangs will be making their eighth consecutive appearance in the NAIA National Championship Series and have advanced to at least the quarterfinal round each of the last six years.

Cherokee Washington graduate Kyle Schuck, a sophomore, is a starting wide receiver for the Mustangs' offensive unit. Schuck, the son of Steve and Barb Schuck of Cherokee, was recently named to the All-GPAC Second Team for the 2011 season.

St. Francis, located in Joliet, Ill., will take a 9-2 record and a No. 11 NAIA national ranking into the contest. The Saints, whose only prior NAIA Championship appearance came in 1987, were this year's co-champions of the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League with a 6-1 league mark.
