What a great crowd we had for Rick Eugene, the balloon/magician man! There were forty-five children and parents who were amazed at the tricks, illusions, and balloon animals made by Rick.
Before the program he pulled books about magic tricks off our shelves in the children's and adult's section to share with the audience as he did his tricks. He even showed them how some of the tricks were done. At the end of the program he gave a list of all the animals he could make out of balloons and made an animal balloon for every child to take home. My favorite one was the horse. A great time was had by all! The month of November is flying by so fast it almost makes your head spin! The library has a tree decorated at the Sanford Museum's festival of trees.Be sure to stop in a take a look at all the beautiful trees. Tuesday I read a special book called "Elf on the Shelf" as part of the preschool story time.It was a story about an elf who came from the North Pole to the library. His job is to help Santa know who's been naughty and nice.
Our library elf is to report to Santa every night with his list and then fly back to the library each day until December 24.But there is one thing he needs before he can begin his job. We need to give him a name by Friday. If you come upstairs to the youth department before Friday there will be paper and pencil on the table to write down a name for our library Elf.The suggestions will be put in a hat and drawn on Friday to see what his name will be. December is just around the corner and I would like to share our library programs we will be offering during this month.
