Western Iowa Tech Community College sent five students from the Cherokee and Denison campuses to participate in a Student Leadership Conference recently.
Amber Reichert of Marcus and Julia Waples of Paullina were among the student participants. Both are active members of the TRiO-Student Support Services program, a federally funded grant new to WITCC's branch campuses in the fall of 2010.
The conference was put on by IA-MAEOPP (Mid-America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel) and was held on Iowa State University's campus in Ames.
WITCC's Cherokee and Denison Branch Campus student participants were selected by faculty and staff for having strong leadership abilities. They joined others from around the state to hear inspirational speakers and be challenged and encouraged on their educational journeys.
