Taco John's fundraising benefits Special Olympics

Special Olympics Iowa (SOIA) is pleased to announce their partnership with Taco John's Restaurants in northwest Iowa for an awareness and fundraising campaign that began on November 21.

This is the second year for the partnership that benefits Special Olympics Iowa athletes in northwest Iowa.

Donations will be calculated on a portion of each Nachos NavidadŽ sold to benefit Special Olympics Iowa athletes in northwest Iowa sold between November 21 and December 25. Nachos NavidadŽ is the festive Super Nachos product using red and green chips. In addition, some stores will also collect change and some stores may also sell paper ornaments for one dollar each.

The donations from the following restaurants will benefit Special Olympics athletes in their respective states: Cherokee, LeMars, Orange City, Sheldon, Sioux Center, Sioux City, Spencer, Spirit Lake, Storm Lake, South Sioux City (NE), and North Sioux City (SD).

Special Olympics Iowa serves 11,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and Unified Sports partners in all 99 counties of Iowa. SOIA offers 23 Olympic-type sports and specialized programs on an annual basis. More than 80 regional competitions and trainings take place and seven statewide competitions are held each year.
