This Sunday, December 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m, Peterson area artisans open their studios and invite you to enjoy a cup of soup, an afternoon fire, live music, holiday fare & friends... all while you shop in an intimate country setting.
The event was originally scheduled for last Saturday, but inclement winter weather forced postponement to this coming Sunday.
The "holiday open studio" will feature works from 11 area artists. You will find a unique selection of gifts ranging from hand fabricated textiles, soaps, ornaments, copper boxes, stone & steel tables, beaded contemporary jewelry, wooden home décor, kitchenware & functional fine arts pottery, original paintings and prints.
"We had so much fun during the 2011 Artisans Road Trip we decided to open our Peterson area studios for the holidays," says artisan Barb McGee. " It is as a way to celebrate the season with fellow artists and the community ... we have a really good time."
"The best part is having time to visit with people." Linda Fries said. "The atmosphere is warm and festive."
Artisans Bruce Morrison, Connie Hankens, Tim Anderson and Barb McGee can be found at McGee Gallery & Framing.
Rhonda Saunders, Daina Powers and Linda Fries will show at Linda Fries Home Studio.
Wendell King, Cindy Lindahl, Diane King, Anji Franseen, Mecal Cafaro and Beth Cathcart can be found at the Rocking M Pottery Studio.
"There will be soup, holiday food and live music at studios," says Beth Cathcart about the open house.
Musicians Charlie Leissler, Joe Fulton and Joseph Cafaro will perform between studios midday and on.
Cherokee singer and songwriter, Charlie Leissler, is best known for his David Crosby style ballads. Joe Fulton, (former) Cherokee native, is an Old Time Music Fiddler from the Seattle's "Tall Boys." Jazz bassist Joseph Cafaro from Peterson will add his acoustical acumen to the day's celebration.
