I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. My boys and their families weren't able to make it home for the holidays since they live so far away and they never know what the weather will do.
So Joe and I went to our brother-in-laws for a scrumptious Thanksgiving meal. If you've ever had a Chocolate Raspberry pie, you know what I'm talking about. As usual, I ate more than I should have.
Now for what's happening at the Cherokee Public Library.
Our library "shelf elf" has been named JOJO. He has been busy taking down notes and watching the boys and girls that come into the library. Each night he flies back to the North Pole to report to Santa as to who's been naughty and who's been nice. Then JOJO comes back to listen and watch again. JOJO told me that he has only good reports that he has shared with Santa. Way to go boys and girls.
Monday, December 5 Mrs. Claus visited the library. Eighteen children and several parents came to enjoy talking to Mrs. Claus. One little boy asked Mrs. Claus if it was alright with Santa if she was out for the night. She assured him that it was alright. Take a look at our web site for the library to see some pictures of Mrs. Claus and the craft the boys and girls made as they waited to talk to her. Thank you Mrs.Claus for coming to the Cherokee Public Library. It was a wonderful way to start our Christmas season.
The Terrific Toddlers program will be Saturday, December 10 from 10:30 -- 11 a.m. Any 1-2-3 year old be sure to bring a responsible person with you and join us for Christmas stories, songs, finger plays and a simple Christmas craft. If you have something red or green to wear that would be great.
Our December library programs will be during the Christmas break. Tuesday, December 27 and Thursday, December 29 from 2 -- 4 p.m. we will make some cool 3D snowflakes, make fancy pictures using a German paper cutting technique, make some unique ornaments for next year, and masks for the New Year. Wednesday, December 28 from 2 -- 4 p.m. come join us at the library for game day. Bring your family and friends and learn some new games.
Don't forget to stop in to see JOJO our library elf and browse our shelves for Christmas stories to share with the family.
Also, be sure to pick up a December Newsletter and join us for some winter fun.
