Ruth M. Bierman, 88, Cherokee, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 in the Crystal River Nursing Home in Waupaca, Wisc..
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Rev. Ethan Sayler will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday. Visitation was on Monday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.
Ruth was born on June 16, 1919 at Storm Lake, to George and Maude (Malbone) Daniels. She graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1937. She was married to Vernon F. Bierman on October 16, 1938 at Elk Point, S. D. She was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee. She enjoyed traveling and working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon on Dec. 15, 1996, two brothers Glen and Clayton Daniels, and one sister Margaret Kavane.
She is survived by two sons: John "Jack" Bierman and his wife Chris, Stevens Point, Wisc.; Richard "Dick" Bierman and his wife Judy, Cherokee; five grandchildren: Doug Bierman and his wife Trina, Stevens Point, Wisc.; Steve Bierman and his wife Brenda, Stevens Point, Wisc.; Brian Bierman and his wife Jenn, Naperville, Ill.; Abby Bierman, Cedar Falls; Andy Bierman, Cedar Falls; three great grandchildren: Braeden, Brea and McKenzie Bierman.
