LAKE CITY - The Ridge View Raptors fell to South Central Calhoun here in a non-conference boys' basketball match-up by a 46-44 score.
In the girls opener, Ridge View lost 46-31.
In the boys game, SCC led at all the stops, with the final two-point margin being the tightest margin in the game.
Seth Johnson and Kris Alesch each scored 13 points to lead the Raptors' attack, and both also grabbed nine rebounds to pace the team in that category. Joe Tokheim added six points and four boards.
Jake Petzenhauser scored nearly half of the Titans' points, netting 21 of the team's 46 points. Collin Higgins added eight and Nathan Christiansen seven.
Ridge View coach Shannon Tesch said the "shots didn't fall early" for his team, now 1-4 on the season. "We had some costly turnovers in the second half," added Tesch. "We battled, but just didn't play sharp enough. South Central Calhoun does a nice job defensively."
In the girls' contest, South Central Calhoun scored a 46-31 win over the Raptors.
Nicole Snyder scored 10 points to lead Ridge View, while Kaitlin Wulf scored nine. Anna Davis grabbed nine rebounds to lead the team in that category.
