According to the NCFR founder, Stan Sitzmann, "Many wonderful gifts and toys have been donated for this year's event. They're all very good items."
Many area merchants donated items for the fundraiser and many people from the county also donated items and cash. "If we have a good auction this year, we'll have enough to take care of all our kids," added Sitzmann.
Anyone interested in contributing more items for the auction may drop them off at the Brightside Lounge. "Everyone is welcome," said Sitzmann.
Sitzmann added that this year's turnout so far has been fabulous and expects another record-breaking year for this annual event. The proceeds of the fund raiser will go towards helping nearly 150 children in Cherokee County to receive a complete outfit of clothing for each child.
Tickets for the raffle are $1 for a chance at the prizes. First prize is $300 in groceries. Second prize is $100 in cash and third prize is $50 in cash. Grocery certificates are redeemable at Fareway and Hy-Vee. Sitzmann also added that if you purchase five chances you will receive a lottery ticket.
Rounding out the fund raiser is a free bean and chili lunch that will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Sitzmann reminds everyone, "If you haven't already bought a raffle ticket yet, you can still buy one now, or on the day of the event."
