CORRECTIONVILLE - Ridge View boys' basketball coach Shannon Tesch said he's "always nervous about that first game after Christmas break," but he thought the Raptors played really well in their Western Valley Conference game here on Tuesday against River Valley, a 58-46 Ridge View win.

Tesch said he felt the Raptors played especially well in the second half, as they "stepped it up defensively and executed on offense, gradually extending their six-point halftime lead to the final margin of 12 points.

Travis Hoeppner had a double-double for Ridge View, with 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Seth Johnson scored 10 points, grabbed seven boards, and dished out nine assists, and Kris Alesch and Marc Meyer each scored eight point, and Alesch also had 11 rebounds.

RV's Brody Riedemann scored 18 points to lead the Wolverines' offense and brother Brennan Riedemann added 11 points.

The Ridge View Raptors are now 3-6 on the season and 1-2 in Western Valley Conference play, and they travel to Newell on Friday to take on Newell-Fonda, while River Valley (1-9) travels to Ida Grove to play Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove.
