Iowa's undefeated, top-ranked Class 2A girls basketball team Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove flexed its muscle against the Cherokee Washington High team in Cherokee Monday night, registering a decisive 84-38 victory to move to 12-0 this season.

Four players cracked double figures for the Falcons, including Jessie Pauley 23, Jensen Boger 20, Morgan VanderSloot 15, and Lexi Olerich 10.

Megan Carlson paced Cherokee with 12 points, followed by Megan Hummel seven, and Taylor Woods six.

The Falcon's stifling pressure defense forced a whopping 34 turnovers for Cherokee, resulting in several easy baskets for the visitors.

OABCIG sank 34-71 field goals for a warm 48 percent, including 10-26 three-balls, and a 6-16 effort from the free throw line.

Cherokee made just 16-60 shots from the field for a frigid 27 percent, including 4-28 threes, and just 2-11 free throws.

Woods led Cherokee rebounding with eight, while Katie Sambrano grabbed seven, and Jackie Wilson and Hummel six apiece. Carlson led in assists with three and had four steals, and Hummel had five steals.

VanderSloot and Pauley each pocketed eight rebounds to lead the Falcons in that department.

Cherokee (2-8) hosts Emmetsburg in Lakes Conference action Friday night.
