SLOAN - The Ridge View boys basketball team became the latest big winners in Sloan on Tuesday, but their win came on the basketball court, not the casino, as the Raptors stormed out to an 18-3 lead against the host Westwood Rebels and never looked back on their way to a 55-25 Western Valley Conference win.
Seth Johnson had another big game for Ridge View, as he scored 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out four assists. Johnson was joined in double figures by Travis Hoeppner, who scored 13 points. Hoeppner also had seven boards and two steals. Kyle Wessling scored seven and grabbed four boards and Kris Alesch scored five points, had six rebounds, and blocked five Rebel shots.
Ridge View coach Shannon Tesch said his team played hard defensively, jumping into a lot of passing lanes, and also did a nice job of executing and making that extra pass on the offensive end of the court.
The Raptors, now 4-11 on the season and 2-4 in the Western Valley Conference, host Woodbury Central Friday in Holstein.
