Warrior girls beat K-P, 40-31

ALTA - The Alta-Aurelia girls hosted Kingsley-Pierson in non-conference basketball here Tuesday. night. Both teams have been struggling to get wins, and both teams were looking at Tuesday's game as a chance for a victory.

The Alta-Aurelia girls prevailed, 40-31, thanks to a tremendous defensive effort and a balanced scoring attack. A-A led at all the stops and held a 33-19 lead going into the 4th quarter.

Cristena Heschke led the Warriors with eight points, while Jenna Snyder and Alexis Hernandez each tallied six, Taler Stanton and Gracie Winterhof added four points apiece and five other Warriors also broke into the scoring column.

Tayler Rohwer led A-A on the boards with seven rebounds, while Taler Stanton grabbed six. Valarie Hernandez dished out five assists and Gracie Winterhof had three, while Stephenie Robbins stole five passes to lead the Warrior defensive effort and Winterhof and Alexis Hernandez each stole four, as the team pilfered 20 passes overall.
