Maple Valley Mutual honors members

AURELIA - The Maple Valley Mutual Insurance Association held its annual meeting Thursday afternoon and several long-time members were honored for their service to the Association.

Three members of the Board of Directors were honored upon their retirement from the Board - Don Radke, who has served 45 years, Dale Sleezer Sr., who has served 33 years, and Dale Peterson, who has served 25 years. Each of the men was presented with a plaque by Board President Myron Pingel.

Members then approved three new Board members - Dana Sleezer, Bill Leutkeman and Dave Hinkeldey - who were selected by a Committee, to fill the retirees' positions on the Board of Directors.

Also honored at Thursday's meeting was the late Jerry Jensen, who passed away last year after serving 17 years as Secretary of the Maple Valley Mutual Association. Jerry's wife Jean and their son Jed were present and accepted a grandfather clock from the Board in memory of Jerry, in appreciation of his time and service to Maple Valley Mutual.

Maple Valley manager and Board Secretary/Treasurer Brian Lockin, who worked with Jerry Jensen for 20 years, expressed the Association's warm feelings for Jerry and said he is missed.
