Lamerne Caroline Weiland-Mohn, 95, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 at Carrington Place in Toledo, Iowa. Funeral services will held today at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Alta, with Michael R. Standfest officiating. There was a visitation one hour prior the service. Burial was in the Hanover Cemetery in Hanover.

Lamerne Mohn was born Aug. 15, 1916 to Herman and Minnie (Schulke) Schuelke in Cherokee. Lamerne was confirmed in March of 1931 at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey, Minn. She married Henry Weiland Oct. 5, 1940 in Comfrey. He passed away July 3, 1978. Lamerne and Arnold Mohn were married Aug. 24, 1985 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Alta. They moved to Story City in 1997. Lamerne was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Boone, and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, ceramics, and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Henry; her daughter Gloria Weiland; and her brothers Enno Schuelke and Albert Schuelke.

Lamerne is survived by her husband Arnold of Story City; her sons Dale (Jackie) Weiland of Tama, and Doug (Judy) Weiland of Garden City; eight grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; her brothers Ewald Schuelke of Comfrey, Lester Schuelke of Richland, Wis., and Arthur Schuelke of Benoit, Wis.; and her sister Myra Coburn of Marshall, Minn.
