Craig W. Schmidt and Monica M. (Clow) Cowan were united in marriage in the chapel of St. Paul United Methodust Church in Cherokee on November 26, 2011. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Magrey DeVega, who also sang "The Lord's Prayer." The bride and groom wrote their own vows and presented communion to the wedding guests.

The wedding ceremony was truly a family affair, as the bride's daughter-in-law, Mary Cowan, served as the acolyte, the bride was escorted down the aisle by her son Wade Cowan, the bride's daughter Amy Cowan sang "How Beautiful," and Monica's grandchildren, Brody and Rebecca Cowan, presented the rings and carried flowers.

The bridal couple were also extremely happy that their parents were able to be in attendance and sign the marriage license.
