Monday, January 30, 2012

On Thursday, Royer's Jewelry in downtown Cherokee held a drawing for a diamond ring valued at $779 to usher in a new beginning and welcome new staff to the 110 year-old West Main Street business. Pictured are store manager Bill Eskildsen, right, and former owner and special guest Don Royer (whose father, Oscar, began the business in Aurelia in 1902 and moved to Cherokee in 1922) who drew the winner. The winner of the diamond ring was Julie Hering- Kent of Cherokee, whose husband Dennis Kent entered the drawing unbeknownst to her. Photo by Mike Leckband
