Last week, Cherokee County Departments submitted their annual budget requests for the 2012/2013 fiscal year to the Cherokee County Board of Supervisors for their consideration .
On Thursday, the Cherokee County Auditor's office released the following budget requests:
Cherokee County Community Services and General Relief - $1,407,314, a 2.35 percent increase.
Cherokee County GIS/Information Technology (GIS was previously part of the County Assessor's budget and now a new department) $185,733, a 76.72 percent increase.
Cherokee County Human Resources and Personnel - $81,795, a 5.81 percent increase.
Cherokee County Environmental Health and EMS Management - $67,213 for EMS, a 5.52 percent increase, and $84,777 for Environmental Health, a 5.98 increase.
Cherokee County Conservation - $348,818, a 7.44 increase.
Cherokee County Engineer/Secondary Roads - $5,561,000, a .38 decrease.
Cherokee County Engineer/Weed Commissioner - $25,000, a 32.21 percent decrease.
Cherokee County Recorder - $149,343, a 3.30 percent increase.
Cherokee County Sheriff - $1,342,263, an 11.86 percent increase.
Cherokee County Attorney - $292,323, a 3.80 percent increase.
Cherokee County Treasurer - $267,979, a 6.04 percent increase.
Kris Glienke, Cherokee County Auditor - $319,490, a .62 percent decrease. Also, election machines update to replace machines bought in 2005 was also requested in the amount of $80,000.
Veteran Affairs - $37,988, a 7.29 percent increase.
The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors also submitted its budget request for $212,040, which is a .16 percent increase.
