The O'Brien County Conservation Board is holding a Winter Hike on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. at Mill Creek Park. Everone will meet near the lodge and gather for a hike through the woods looking for animal signs.
This activity will take place regardless of ground cover. If there is snow on the ground, the group will be trekking on snowshoes. Snowshoes will be available to borrow free of charge. Call the Conservation Board Office at 712-295-7200 to reserve a pair. No matter what the weather ... make plans to join the fun.
Also the Prairie Heritage Center, during the Valentine season, the Conservation Board wants to share its love of the prairie and the outdoors with your family.
Bring your children out to the Prairie Heritage Center, near Sutherland, for "Tallgrass Tales."
This family friendly program will focus on animals that live in the prairie. You can meet the bison, prairie dog and other critters as they sample stories and child-friendly crafts. "Tallgrass Tales" will take place on Thursday, Feb. 9 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
