The Cherokee County Ag Show will be held on Tuesday, Feb 5 at the Western Iowa Tech Community College Conference Center in Cherokee. The 2012 edition of the Cherokee County Ag Show will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Western Iowa Tech Community College Conference Center in Cherokee. There is no admission charge for this event.

The Ag Show has been one of the most popular events in Cherokee since 1994.

The purpose of the Ag show is to help inform and educate farmers on the new farming innovations and new field applications. This event will also help bring farmers together as a form of networking and to provide growers with more information.

There will be over 50 display booths from area vendors on hand all day to meet and greet the public. All proceeds from booth fees will go to an Ag-scholarship program.

The Cherokee Chamber Agri-Business Committee sponsors the Ag Show. Proceeds from the Ag Show fund the scholarship program. A scholarship is awarded to one senior from each of the Cherokee County schools.

The recipient must be entering an Ag-related field or a field which supports the Ag industry.

At 9:00 a.m. doors will open.

At 9:30 a.m. the Iowa State University Pesticide training will begin.

Also at 9:30 the program Spend Smart, Eat Smart will be featured.

At 10:35 a.m. the program Eat Better Today, Feel Better for Life will be featured.

There will also be a free lunch served form noon to 1 p.m. The lunch is sponsored by, Cherokee State Bank, Central Bank, Community Bank, Farmers State Bank, Heritage Bank, First Trust & Savings Bank, State Savings Bank, North Star Community Credit Union, United Bank of Iowa, Cherokee County Cattlemen's Association and Cherokee County Pork Producers.

At 2 p.m. featured speaker Elwynn Taylor will be held. Taylor is the Professor of Ag Meteorology at Iowa State University and ISU Climatologist

If your business is interested in having a booth at this event, please contact Julie at the Chamber of Commerce at 225-6414 as soon as possible. Last year's event drew around 400 people.
