Joan Doris Patrick, 83, of Los Molinos, Calif., passed away Friday December 16, 2011 surrounded by her family.
Joan was born to Rafael and Rose Mazza on November 24, 1928, in Marin County, Calif. She married Reginald A. Patrick in 1944, and they lived together in Iowa before relocating to San Rafael, California in 1960 and then to Los Molinos, California in 1973. Joan was preceded in death by her husband Reginald Patrick on October 13, 2009.
Joan was a dedicated and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family and especially her Great Grandchildren.
Joan was a member of the local Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She loved to travel and took many trips with her late husband Reginald (Reggie) Patrick. She enjoyed cooking for her family at the holidays when she would have a house full of family and friends. She also enjoyed attending the many sports events for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joan is survived by four children: John Patrick, of Chico, Calif.; Peggy (Monroe) Wingate, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Judy (Joseph) Brownfield, of Chico, Calif.; Michael (Beverly) Patrick of Los Molinos, Calif. She is survived by six grandchildren, Jason and Aaron Points, Kendra, Jake and Jeffrey Patrick and Ryan Patrick and six great-grandchildren Ashley, Reginald and Anthony Points, and Nicholas, Marissa and Angel Points. And her loving sister Grace Walker of San Rafael, Calif.; and sister-in-law Ruth Stieneke, Washta, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is going to be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Butte Home Health and Hospice in Chico, Calif.
A memorial and remembrance gathering of family and friends was held at her home on Jan. 15.
