Benefit show at Gathering Place

Monday, February 6, 2012

On Saturday February 18th, a benefit show, featuring many of Northwest Iowa's leading musicians, will be held at The Gathering Place on West Main Street in Cherokee. The show is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

There will be a free will donation at the door that evening and a raffle of items donated by area businesses and artists, and all the proceeds will go to UNICEF, for the provision of aid to the people living in the "horn" area of Africa, who have been affected recently by both drought and famine.

The show will feature original songs from talented area songwriters Charlie Leissler, Laura and Josh, Brooks Begay, Bridget Durst, Sanna Miller and Andy Juhl, and they will all be backed up by Steve Alingh on keyboards, Jimmy Davis on guitar, and Tim Anderson on drums.

Come on out on Saturday Feb. 18th for great music, for a good cause.
