The River Valley boys battled back from a 12-point deficit in the first half to claim a 47-40 victory over Whiting in the Western Valley Conference Tournament in Monday action.

Zak Gander led the way for the Wolverines with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Brennan Riedemann added 14 points and five steals, Austin Moeller pulled down eight rebounds from his wing position, and Brody Reidemann went 4-4 from the line down the stretch to secure the victory, which avenged an earlier loss to the Warriors.

RV Coach Dean Norris said that River Valley has improved as the season has progressed, and adds, "I can't say enough about how resilient this group is, as they play hard every night and have such great attitudes everyday."

River Valley's win improved their season record to 5-16, and they wrap up their regular season Friday with a non-conference game against Alta-Aurelia in Alta.
