Mary J. Wentworth, the daughter of Earl and Grace (Campbell) Wentworth was born on Nov. 23, 1926 in Cherokee. Her childhood years were spent in Cherokee where she attended and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1944.
After graduation, Mary worked for the telephone company in Cherokee. She transferred to Colorado where she remained with the phone company. She lived in Boulder and Montrose, Colo. for many years. In 2006, she returned home to be closer to her family.
Mary was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. She enjoyed traveling especially to Las Vegas, crossword puzzles, and word find books. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mary will fondly be remembered by the people that knew her as a generous, caring, loving individual with a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Grace Wentworth; one brother, Daniel Wentworth; and one sister, Rozella Bushlow.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Roethler of Larrabee; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
