I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!
Just a reminder. The library will be closed on Feb. 20 for President's Day.
Our "Love Your Library?" program on Monday was attended by nine boys and girls. They had fun making a 3-2-1 cupcake in the microwave, frosting it, and of course eating it. Then they played a game called "toss the Lincolns."
Each child was given some pennies and they were given the chance to toss them into a hat. If any pennies made it into the hat they got to keep them.
We also talked about how to clean a penny. Peg showed them how dirty the coins were before she cleaned them. Then she showed what they looked like after cleaning them with vinegar, catsup, and toothpaste.
Each person made a ladybug valentine to take home and for our final activity they went on a scavenger hunt to find posters or bookmarks that dealt with our Valentine theme. A great time was had by all.
It has come to my attention that some people were not sure if we would have a program when school was cancelled. I will plan on having the program if I can make it in. If I can't make it in then I will call KCHE and let them know. Or you could check our facebook page or call the library at 225-3498.
Our next library program will be Monday, March 12 from 3:45 a.m. -- 4:45 p.m. Dawn Erickson will share information about taking care of your teeth, a story, and hand out special items that can be taken home. I hope the weather will cooperate.
Don't forget to pick up a February newsletter. We will continue to offer pre-school story time every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. -- 11 a.m.
