Evelyn was born on June 25, 1924 to Roy & Florence Lundell in rural Liberty Township, Cherokee County. She graduated from Larrabee High School in 1942 and then attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Ill, graduating in 1945. She was a member of the Oakdale Evangelical Free Church of rural Meriden. In 1949 she went to Australia with Child Evangelism Fellowship.
There she met Howard Miles and they were married in 1956. Together they served many years with the Aboriginal Inland Mission publishing simple English Sunday School lessons. After retirement she continued teaching Bible Classes in the Public Schools and was actively involved in ladies ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Howard, and three children, Philip and wife Lyn of Nowra, Australia; David and wife Glenda, of Winmalee, Australia; and Robyn Gardner and her husband Robert, of Palmerston North, New Zealand; nine grandchildren; and her sister Maxine Lundell Anderson and her husband Milton, of Corn, Okla.
