The final two sessions of Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Courses to be held in Cherokee County will be held on Monday. March 12.
A session will be offered at Sand Seed Service in Marcus from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and another session will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the Western Iowa Tech campus auditorium in Cherokee. You must be on time as Iowa law does not allow admittance to late arrivals. The registration fee is $20.
Preregistration is required and must be received no later than Thursday, March 8. If you are a Cherokee County applicator, complete and return the registration form from the brochure you received previously along with your $20 fee, payable to ISU Extension (not IDALS). If you do not have a registration form, one can be downloaded by going to http://www.extension.iastate.edu/cheroke....
Private pesticide applicators are required to attend an approved Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) each year to recertify, or pass the written test given by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship when their certification expires. If a CIC program is missed, the applicator will be required to retest when their certification expires. New applicators must take the test to become certified the first time.
For more information on preregistering, or to obtain class dates and sites in neighboring counties, call the Cherokee County Extension Office at 712-225-6196 or visit our web site at www.extension.iastate.edu/cherokee.
