The CRMC Diabetes Center will continue their six-part informational series entitled "Diabetes and the Body", with the third program of the series to be held on Monday, March 5th at 6 p.m. in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center 1st Floor Education Room.
The topic on Monday will be "Diabetes and Your Mental Health," presented by Cindi Prather of Plains Area Mental Health.
The series will then continue over the next three months during the regularly scheduled meetings of the Diabetes Connect group (the first Monday of every month) to discuss various diabetes topics in a casual and friendly setting. Anyone affected by diabetes, including their spouses, family members or friends, are welcome and encouraged to attend the series as well as the monthly Diabetes Connect meetings.
The schedule for the remaining parts of the series is as follows:
March 5, 2012- Diabetes and your Mental Health- Presented by Cindi Prather, Plains Area Mental Health
April 2, 2012- Diabetes and your Mouth- Presented by Libby Gustafson, Dental Hygienist
May 7, 2012- Diabetes and your Eyes- Presented by Dr. Wendell Stoelting, OD
June 4, 2012- Diabetes and your Feet- Presented by Dr. Randy Crampton, DPM
All meetings will begin at 6 p.m. in the CRMC 1st Floor Education room.
Diabetes Connect meetings include group discussions, a time for sharing, and occasional guest speakers covering a variety of diabetes related topics. CRMC diabetic educators will also be on hand to answer any questions and/or concerns one may have regarding diabetes. The meetings are free of charge and open to the public.
