Lat Friday - March 2nd, 2012 - marked thirty years since the day Carey and Carol Hetrick opened their business, the Christian Book Store, located at 200 West Maple Street in Cherokee. Throughout those thirty years, the store has provided the citizens of Cherokee and the surrounding communities a place to purchase a wide supply Christian-themed books and music, as well as other materials and supplies, such as CDs, DVDs, cards, communion supplies, church bulletins, pictures, and "Shield of Strength" medallions for many occupations, church denominations and service men and women.

The Christian Book Store has items for individuals as well as for Sunday School, Confirmation, Vacation Bible School and Bible class teachers and students, and if they don't have what customers are looking for, they will place a special order for that item. Tina Westbay, store manager, said that specially ordered items are usually received within four-eight days.

Carey Hetrick said that the store provides a Help Ministry of Supplies to all Christian denominations, and they have regular customers from several counties within a 60 mile radius.

Carey Hetrick said they are very thankful to all area ministers - and to all of the store's customers - for their thirty years of continued support.
