Phyllisjune Waller, 84, of Cherokee, passed away Saturday morning, March 10, 2012 at Cherokee Villa Nursing & Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16 at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee. Ethan Sayler will officiate. Burial will be in Marcus-Amherst Cemetery in Marcus. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. on Friday morning at the church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and a Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Phyllisjune was born on June 5, 1927 to Walter W. and Fay F. (Wright) Wallen at Sioux City. She attended school at Sioux City East, West Seattle Washington and then graduating from Cherokee Wilson High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Roderick Waller on October 28, 1945 at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, rural Marcus. Phyllisjune worked as a secretary on Pier 21 in Seattle, Wash., clerk at Cherokee J.C. Penny's Store and as a study hall supervisor at Marcus High School. She and her husband lived in Grand Meadow Township until 2006, when they moved to Cherokee; spending the last four years in The Gardens Retirement Community. She was a former member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, later joining the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee. She was a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star in Alta. Phyllisjune enjoyed reading, traveling, camping, playing cards and time spent with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roderick on March 19, 2008, two sisters Josephine Fosnot and Veramay Rowse, and twin brothers at birth.

Phyllisjune is survived by her 5 children: David Waller and his wife Sheryl of Bailey, Colo.; Peggy Worthington and her husband Bruce of Centennial, Colo.; Janet Galles and her life partner Clip Schreuder of Aurelia; Beth Harger and her husband Jim of Greeley, Colo.; Wayne Waller of Cherokee; 12 grandchildren: Mike and Mandy Archer, Matt and Kristen Archer, Mikelle Archer, Sarah Galles, Luke and Michelle Galles, Jonathan Waller, Jennifer Waller, Jessica and Bobby Fann, Jami and Jerry Vigil, Roderick Harger, Jacqueline Harger and life partner Michael Johnson, Alexander Harger; 15 great-grandchildren: Brinleigh, Briton, Jackson, Joe, Taylor, Riley, Camie, Ahnika, Ena, Rowa, A.J., Max, Autumn, Abby and Aidan; and one brother-in-law Max Waller and his wife Donna of Cherokee.
