South O'Brien senior Adam Paulsen was a first-team pick on the Class 2A All-State team selected by the Iowa Newspaper Association (INA).
Paulsen, a Briar Cliff University basketball recruit, led all Class 2A scorers in the state this year with a 25.2 points per game average. Paulsen shot 51.5% from the field, 42.4% from 3-point range and 75.2 % from the free throw line.
No other players from Chronicle Times area schools were selcted for honors, though several players who played in area conferences were named, including Lakes Conference player Austin Homan of LeMars, who was a first team Class 3A selection; Twin Lakes Conference players Luke Lenhart and Kennedy Drey of Storm Lake St, Mary's ,both juniors, who were both Class 1A first-team selections; and the Western Valley Conference's Austin Lefler, a Lawton-Bronson junior who was a third team Class 1A selection.
North Carolina recruit Marcus Paige, whose Linn-Mar team finished fourth in Class 4A after reigning a year ago, was honored as the INA's Mr. Basketball award recipient.
