Drew Goaley was hired as Sales Manager at the southern location. He formerly worked in Omaha at Radio Engineers, an electronics firm dealing with the transportation field, and he said he "spent a lot of time in airplanes and hotels" in his position as a sales representative for the southeastern United States.
With a wife and two young sons (Charlie, 20 months old and Will, 8 months old) under the age of two, Goaley said he was seeking employment which was more home-based. His wife Maura is an attorney, and when she accepted a position earlier this year with the Wittgraf Law Firm here in Cherokee, Drew also found a position to his liking at Holzhauer's. Following a brief period of training at Holzhauer's dealership on Highway 59 North, Drew recently moved into his new office and position at the south location, where he will be working with two sales representatives.
One of those sales reps,Tom Selk, has been working at Holzhauer's since 1989. He initially served as the Parts Manager, but transferred to sales in 2005. He began working at the Holzhauer South location, selling mid-size trucks, when they purchased the former Brown Chevrolet building two years ago.
The other sales representative at 'Holzhauer's South' is new to the business, but he is certainly no stranger to Cherokee or its business community. Mark Murphy grew up in Cherokee, and worked as the produce manager at the Hy-Vee store, as well as at the Hy-Vee Distribution Center, before moving away. He missed Cherokee, however, and moved back to town seven years ago.
Other employees at the new Holzhauer location, many of whom previously worked for the business at their north location, include Service Manager John Foxhoven, Parts Manager Bobby Day, Office Manager Tasha Curtin, technicians Kendall Henkel, Tracy Stevenson and Andrew Sangwin, lube technician David Newell, and detail man Al Christensen.
