Revenue Purpose Statement passes in Aurelia

Thursday, April 5, 2012

At a special election Tuesday, voters in the Aurelia School District overwhelmingly approved adopting a Revenue Purpose Statement to replace the current Revenue Purpose Statement and authorize the expenditure of revenues from the State of Iowa, through the $.01 sales, service and use tax for school, to secure an advanced vision for education fund for school infrastructure.

Unofficial results Tuesday showed 98.33% of those who voted were in favor of the measure and 1.67% were opposed. A 50% majority was required for the measure to pass.

The 120 votes cast represented a 9.7% turnout of the 1237 registered voters in the school district.
