The Cherokee Symphony recently held auditions for young artists who were interested in soloing with the Symphony.
Veteran Cherokee Symphony Director Lee Thorson was judge, and Symphony Board members managed the house and served refreshments.
The following young people were selected, and will be featured at the Sunday, April 22 concert of the Cherokee Symphony, under the direction of Maestro Lee Thorson:
Kylie Peterson, a Buena Vista University junior, was selected as a soprano vocalist; Jesse Luedtke, a junior at Storm Lake High School, trombone; Casey Hardin, a freshman at Omaha Millard North High School, pianist; Stephanie Gibb-Clark, a junior at Drake University, soprano vocalist; and Michelle Curtis, Fort Dodge St. Edmond High School junior, flute.
Season tickets will be honored at the April 22 concert. Students under 18 years of age will be admitted free, and at-the-door admission will be $10.
The Concert will be held at the Cherokee Community Center and will begin at 4 p.m.
