Geraldine L. Williams, 72, of Cherokee, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at her home in Cherokee.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Pastor Jeff Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Geraldine was born March 9, 1940 at Spencer, to Roy and Vera (Rodine) Clauson. She graduated from Marathon High School in 1957. After high school, she attended Mankato Business College. She worked for Sunhomes Manufacturing in Albert City before she was married. She was united in marriage to George W. Williams on Jan. 9, 1966 at Webb. Geraldine was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherokee, and was involved in volunteering at the Cherokee Villa for many years and had a special heart for the elderly. She enjoyed hiking, roller skating and music, especially playing the organ and accordion.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Gene Williams.

Geraldine is survived by her husband George W.; one sister, Darlene Weigart of Storm Lake; two nieces: Doris (Dale) Wiley of Storm Lake, and their children Ryan and Josh and Delores (Jim) Schachtner of Storm Lake and their children Emily and Jake; one great- great-niece Nevaeh Schachtner; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Marjorie (Gerald) Goodburn of Cherokee; Irvin (Opal) Williams of Cherokee; Darlene Williams of Sioux Falls, S.D., and many nieces and nephews.
