Cherokee spring yard waste days

Monday, April 9, 2012

The City of Cherokee has announced that yard waste will be picked up by Sanitary Services on your regular recyclable service day on the following dates:

West side of Cherokee will be Thursdays, April 12, and May 3; and the East side of Cherokee will be Fridays, April 13, and May 4.

Yard waste will be picked up at your normal pickup locations but must be kept separate from your recyclables that are also picked up on those dates. Yard waste will be picked up only if it is in paper sacks, boxes, or garbage cans.

Plastic bags will not be picked up.

Branches must be tied in bundles and in lengths not to exceed four feet.

Yard waste can also be bagged or bundled and taken to the Sanitary Landfill yourself at no charge during open hours.

The City of Cherokee also reminds residents that there is no open burning season of yard waste in the City limits.
