She was one of seven children, and in 1960 graduated with the last class from Meriden High School. Diane worked as a nurses' aide at Sioux Valley Hospital where she met her future husband Leo "in bed" - while he was recuperating. In 1962 Diane married Leo Unkrur and together they had three sons: Paul, Pat and Pete.
Following a courageous battle with cancer, Diane passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Branson on March 31. A burial will be held for family and friends at Holy Name Cemetery in Marcus, on Saturday, July 28 at 11 a.m. Following the burial a luncheon reception will be held for all at the Marcus Community Center.
Diane spent most of her life in Marcus and Cherokee, where she was known for her meticulous lawn, clean house and quick wit. Diane and Leo recently relocated to Branson, Missouri where they loved to spend their days out with friends, attending shows and their afternoons having a few ice cold beers while sitting on the back deck watching the tour busses in the distance come in to town. If you had the honor of knowing Diane then you know she was loved by all and could always put a smile on your face. Her family will miss her every day and will think of her often.
