Dr. Ruth Daumer, Associate Professor of Nursing and Chair of the Department of Nursing at Northwestern College, will be the key speaker at the Spring Rally of the Cherokee Zone Lutheran Women's Missionary League on Saturday, April 28, 2012 beginning at 9:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Paullina, IA.
students have had on missionary trips to Tanzania. Dr. Daumer is a professional speaking who also presents on health care research. Her current research focuses on the Christian foundations of nursing and the experience of clergy health. Dr. Daumer coordinates a parish nurse ministry at Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City and St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Ireton. She leads holistic health programs for professional church workers and their families in western Iowa.
This rally will with registration and a light brunch at 9:30 am. Other events include a skit "Laying Up Treasures" performed by the Human Care and Leader Development committees. Attendees are asked to bring one of the following Gifts of the Heart items for the ingathering: gently used purses & belts, or new underwear. Devotions will be presented by The Rev. Daniel Wagner of Zion Lutheran, Paullina and The Rev. Don Erickson of St. John Lutheran, Germantown. All members and guests are welcome to attend.
