This month has flown by awfully fast. We've had a full and fun month at the library. During National Library Week prizes were given and special programs were offered for youth and adults alike. Congratulations to the winners in the youth department Javanni Wilkins, Madison Daum, Ben Hart, Hazzard Guthrie, and Mattison Lugar.
Mr. Tap 'n' Go helped the library celebrate our special week by dancing up a storm for the boys and girls Thursday, April 12. Then the children made a glueless collage. Stop by to see their creation. "Don't Eat That" activity was a snack surprise for the children. Finally, they scoured the youth department of the library for several items that did not belong in the library. Thanks to everyone for making this a great week.
May is just around the corner. Preschool story time will continue to meet every Tuesday from 10:30 -- 11 a.m. This is for children ages 3 -- 5 years old.
Terrific Toddlers will meet on Saturday, May 12 from 10:30 -- 11 a.m. Any 1 to 3 year old can bring a responsible adult and learn some new action rhymes, finger plays, and listen to stories.
I will be going to Roosevelt School on May 9th to present our "DREAM BIG. . .READ" summer reading program. I will also go to the middle school on May 16. We already have two special programs lined up. "DREAM BIG. . .READ" will start on June 11 and end July 14.
Our final program for the school year will be Thursday, May 17 from 3:45 - 4:45 p.m. Have you ever done star gazing and wished you could be a part of them? There is a way! Come to the Cherokee Public Library on May 17 to find out how you can twinkle and shine with the rest of the stars. Don't forget to ride the IC bus to the library. Be sure to tell the bus driver you need to be dropped off at the library. All ages are welcome.
