River Valley competes at Sheldon meet

SHELDON - The River Valley High School track and field teams competed in the Sheldon Invitational Co-Ed meet here on Monday, and the Wolverines' Brittny Shropshire took home a first place medal in the 100 meter hurdles, with her time of 15.97.

The other top three finishes for RV included sophomore Olivia Goettsch, second place in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:34.91; second in the Distance Medley (Mary Foley, Tonya Redenius, Brittny Shropshire and Olivia Goettsch), with a time of 4:44.31; and Brittany Hunwardsen, 3rd in the 3000 Meter Run. The RV team placed 5th in the team standings.

On the boys' side, the Wolverines' Tanner Cobb took the shot put title with his heave of 50-8; Zak Gander's leap of 6-1 tied two others for best in the High Jump, but Gander was awarded third place on misses.
